The creamy saltiness of the gruyere, the mild sweetness of the fig and the slight bitterness of the arugula is such a delicious combo!! This is a wonderful open-faced sandwich-- a light and yet, tasty and satisfying, lunch.
The shot above was taken right before it went in the oven. See the gooey gruyere cheese nicely melted after it came out of the oven.
- French bread
- Brown turkey figs
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Slice figs and gruyere cheese 1/4” thick. Set aside.
- Layer arugula, gruyere and figs on sliced french bread. Place on cookie sheet and into the oven for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted and starts to bubble.
- Serve immediately.
